Bear in Nightdress

A lot of followers of my blog love the cute bear in nightdress.
You can find the Dutch pattern here.
They were asking me for a English translation.
Today I made an translation for Victor and for all other followers of my blog.

This bear was designed by Con A de Artisanía.
Look for the original pattern HERE.
With permission of the designer, I made and shared the Dutch translation
Now I share with you the English translation.
This pattern is only for personal use.
You only may share this pattern with permission of Con the Artisania.

Materials
- Pink and brown yarn (worsted weight)
- Black embroidery thread for the nose
- Two safety eyes (I used 8 mm)
- A small pompom or make yourself a ball
- Filling
- Needle with a blunt tip
- Scissors

My variation:
I used Catania cotton 3 and crochet hook 3.0 mm (3.5 mm for the first part of the hat).
My colors: natural No. 105 instead of 173 brown and blue instead of pink.

Abbreviations used (USA terms)
ch = chainstitch
st = stitch
slst = slip stitch
sc = single crochet

dc = double crochet
Inc = increasing: 2 sc in same stitch from the previous row
Double inc = 3 sc in same stitch from the previous row

Advice from me:
Check after round 25 row by row how the hat fits the head.
The cap fits great or is becoming too loose?
Then go further with round 29.
Is your cap still too tight?
Crochet the rounds 26, 27 and 28 before finishing with round 29-33

Pompom at the tip of  the hat (pink)
(Or use a ready pompom)
Repeat the pattern of the tail.
Close the pompom with the yarn and a needle.
Sew the pompom at the tip of the hat.

Arm (2x)
Start with brown yarn
Round 1: 7 sc in a magic ring (7). Close the ring with 1 slst in the first st of the round.
Round 2: 2 sc in each stitch of the previous row (14)
Round 3: 7x (1 sc, 2 sc in next st) (21)
Round 4-6: 1 sc in each stitch of the previous row (21) (3 rows)
Round 7: 3x (5 sc, 2 sc tog) (18)
Change color and crochet the next part of the arm with pink.
Round 8-9: 1 sc in each stitch of the previous row (18) (2 rows)
Round 10: 3x (4 sc, 2 sc tog) (15)
Round 11-13: 1 sc in each stitch of the previous row (15) (3 rows)
Round 14: 3x (3 sc, 2 sc tog) (12)
Round 15-17: 1 sc in each stitch of the previous row (12) (3 rows)
Round 18: 3x (2 sc, 2 sc tog) (9)
Round 19-20: 1 sc in each stitch of the previous row (9) (2 rows)
Close the last round with 1 slst and fasten.
Leave a long tail to sew the arm to the body.
Fill only the bottom of the arm with toy filling.
Let the top of the arm empty.

Finish

Embroider the nose and mouth on the snout and sew snout to the head.
Sew the hat on the head and sew the ears on the hat.
Sew the head, arms, legs and tail to the body.
Sew the small pompom at the tip of the hat.

    groetjes,
    Loes
